About
We can’t get past the idea that school should be a comfortable place where shoes come off, and classmates become family. That’s why we started our microschool, and we truly love it here. While our families come from diverse backgrounds and experiences, including homeschools, charter schools, and private schools, we all have at least one thing in common. We believe schools should offer more freedom, less pressure, and a lot of space to explore personal interests. Is that too much to ask?
We don’t think so.
Creation Acre Academy is a place where K-8th-grade students can have a voice and experience educational freedom, all while being challenged academically and supported in becoming the best versions of themselves.
What's a microschool?
A microschool is a small community of learners that meet to engage in a specific academic area or an entire curriculum. "Micro" refers to the number of students and certainly not the impact of the environment. It offers an alternative to the traditional classroom setting and allows students to thrive academically in an empowering, collaborative community. Our K-8th microschool offers a full academic curriculum and fun electives. We operate as a private school and allow homeschooled students to co-enroll in our program.

About the Founders
Hi there, we’re a homeschooling family with four amazing kids, all with wildly different personalities and learning types. We’ve always homeschooled, and it’s been a fulfilling and challenging journey. In 2021 we moved to Mint Hill after living in the Ballantyne area of Charlotte for about eight years. One thing we quickly noticed was the lack of local homeschool programs in comparison.
I (Jasmine) absolutely love teaching and have had some wonderful teaching roles over the past five years, including teaching in the Brace YMCA homeschool program and leading the youth ministry of a small local church in Charlotte. I’m currently pursuing a master’s in biblical studies, and I really love teaching the Bible. My husband Akeem is a coding expert and a director of web development.
In 2023, we took a leap of faith and decided to purchase a house in downtown Mint Hill to convert to school. We would love to see Creation Acre become a place where kids can find their voice. While we will offer classes in cooking, digital arts, Christian apologetics, and more, we desire to be a student-led, project-based organization.
